Costa Teguise

Costa Teguise which in English translation is The coast of Teguise is one of the main tourist resorts of Lanzarote. It is situated in the North-eastern part of the Island only a few kilometres away from its capital Arrecife. Costa Teguise used to be Lanzarote´s former capital and blessed by being in close proximity to a wealth of beautiful and interesting sights locations and fabulous beaches. Although it is a purpose built resort Costa Teguise manages to have a nice community feel to it with lots of little squares around which the bars and restaurants are located.

The largest white beach 'Las Cucharas' is well-known and famous for its perfect conditions for wind surfers but also for the wonderful tranquil white beach.
 
Costa Teguise also has the only 18 hole international standard golf course on Lanzarote and a large water park.

This area is built on flat ground and is therefore ideal for families. More subdued than Puerto del Carmen Costa Teguise offers everything on your doorstep including several golden beaches all of which are safe for bathing. The lovely Las Cucharas beach and the smaller Playa Bastian beach are linked to the centre by a sea-front promenade. Costa Teguise has an excellent selection of shops bars and restaurants and an interesting hand craft fair held every Friday evening in the centre of the town. It is also the location of the Beatriz Hotel which has a fantastic Thalasso Spa and Wellness Centre.

There is a good range of restaurants here catering for all tastes and pockets. Portofino which serves delicious Italian fare and the Casablanca which offers Filet Mignon chicken dishes and good friendly service come highly recommended. A couple of restaurants offer good Mexican food including Habana and Tex Mex. Many of the better restaurants are around the marketplace. La Ordana and Oscars are the best but El Patio El Pescador and La Pardela all serve good local cuisine.
