Orzola

Orzola is a quaint fishing village located at the northern most tip of the island at the end of a very scenic drive. Orzola is a favourite village for many people and where the famous fish restaurant "Charco Viejo" is located along with many other fine seafood restaurants stretching along the seafront many of which have nice terraces overlooking the small harbour.

This peaceful fishing settlement is an ideal base for enthusiastic anglers. Protected by reefs of volcanic rock, the harbour area is not safe for swimming or diving when the weather is rough. Further west, there is a picturesque, small beach – called Playa de la Cantería – with white sand, ideal for sun bathing and windsurfing but swimming conditions are not very good here because of strong sea currents.

Orzola has kept a genuine unspoilt charm, which even the twice daily ferry service to the neighbouring islet of La Graciosa cannot harm. This small island of Graciosa has no tarred roads, no cars and no shade either, only beautiful empty beaches, sand dunes and a small fisherman village - Caleta del Sabo. The ferry trip takes 20 minutes
